Why Use Social Media for Business?

Social media for business

Is all social media just for teenagers to post pictures of themselves or for mothers to post images of their babies?  The truth is that social media is an ideal – and inexpensive – way for companies to get their details out to a large number of people.  If you are not up to date with the working of social media, then now is the time to learn.  There is nothing to lose from giving your company a social media presence.  In fact, there is everything to gain.

Trust is a big issue when people are looking to buy items or services.  The more places they see a name, the more likely it is that it will stay in their mind.  When your potential customers see your brand popping up on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+, they are to believe that your company is reputable and it’s safe to do business with you.

Social media will also assist your company to reach people in a way that was not possible in the past.  When potential clients log on to chat with friends, they might very well see you.  Even if they do not click through there and then, it is likely that they will remember your name when they do need a service you provide.

The more people you reach, the more your business will grow.  Try to keep your social media posts upbeat and fun.  That way you will be more likely to be talked about or re-tweeted.  If only 1% of people who read your post re-tweet it, you will be reaching thousands of extra potential followers and customers.

With some social media – Facebook is a prime example – the advertisements that you place can be filtered to reach the people who fit the profile of your target customer.  Think about the ads you see on your own page, they are always aimed at people of your general demographic.  They are often connected to something you have already “liked”.

In order to get the most out of using social media, create great content and make people want to go back to your page over and over again.  Be creative.  You can run competitions, offer vouchers and offer fun things for people to contemplate.  On a social media site, you will be seen to be the open and honest organisation you are.  Just remember to check the page regularly and make sure trolls have not made a visit.  If you put all the information people need to know on social media, your potential clients will feel welcome to contact you about what they need.

Speaking of which, are you looking for press releases, press release distribution, copywriting, articles, design.. or more?  If so, contact us today.  We’ll be happy to give you a quick quote and more information.
